From Pain to Purpose: My Journey of Becoming Mrs. Jamaica Regency International 2026 💜
By Danette Mahabeer-Turner
There are moments in life that do not simply change your direction—they transform your entire purpose. My journey into pageantry is one of those moments. ✨
I am Danette Mahabeer-Turner, Mrs. Jamaica Regency International 2026, a wife, mother, published author, entrepreneur, and domestic violence advocate. But beyond those titles, I am a woman who has learned how to turn pain into purpose and purpose into impact.
Finding Strength Through Adversity
My story is rooted in resilience. As a survivor of domestic violence, I made the decision not to let my past define me—but to refine me.
That experience became the foundation of my advocacy work and the heartbeat behind everything I do. I wrote my book, Leave Alive: Goodbye Domestic Violence, as a reminder that survival is not the end of the story; it is the beginning of transformation.
More Than a Competition 👑
Pageantry, for me, was never just about competition. It became a platform for healing, leadership, and giving a voice to those who need one most.
It gave me the opportunity to represent women who are rebuilding, rediscovering, and reclaiming their identity after adversity.
Using the Crown With Purpose
As I stepped into the Regency International system, I embraced every moment with gratitude and intention.
My reign is not simply about wearing a crown—it is about what I choose to do with it.
I use my voice to advocate for domestic violence awareness, mental health, and the empowerment of women and youth. Through public speaking, media, and community service, I strive to create spaces where others feel seen, heard, and valued.
Leadership Begins With Love ❤️
I am also a wife of three years, and I deeply value the beauty of commitment and partnership.
Marriage has taught me patience, communication, grace, and the importance of choosing love every day. That journey has strengthened my understanding of what it truly means to build something that lasts.
The Journey Continues
Today, I stand not as someone who has arrived, but as someone who is still becoming.
Every stage I step onto is another opportunity to inspire someone else to step out of their silence and into their strength.
My mission is simple: to transform pain into purpose, and purpose into legacy.
Because I believe the crown is not the destination—it is the platform. 👑✨
